BRAND CONTROL; never forget these words. Remember what happened to Moschino, Iceberg, Coogi, Versace, Tommy Hilfiger, Lacoste, Gucci, Burberry, Armani and Cristal in the ’90s? Shit, only a few of the aforementioned ever really recovered from that debacle. And no one wants to be the posterboy of a racial debate with the hip hop community, that’s for sure. So, keep it simple: avoid making a quick dollar by not selling out to trashbags and keep your integrity, please.
I love to hate Swizzy but I have to give him his props. He looks so good here. Those pants paired with the shell tops are hot. Loved his look. See the rest here: http://ow.ly/bXxpH
House of Givenchy, former avant garde darling of the fashion world, died last night on national television at the BET Awards 2012.
Givenchy, founded in 1952 by designer Hubert de Givenchy, was a member of Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture et du Pret-a-Porter. In 2005, the reins for both the men’s and women’s collections were assumed by Riccardo Tisci. Tisci’s apparent fascination with gothic touches and space-age minimalism drew new attention to the brand, a critical mass of which came from hip-hop’s elite, renown for their awful taste in clothing.
Such over-exposure has been said to have caused the fashion label’s demise—experts claim its death was most likely caused by exhaustion and general malaise. The world renowned fashion label was 60.
